Program content
- Core studies, 15 ECTS credits: technology, and society, maintenance management, power plant design
- Specialization studies, minimum of 72 ECTS credits
Obligatory studies, 65 ECTS credits: steam turbines, fluid machinery, design of fluid machinery, thermal design of steam boilers, advanced modeling tools for transport phenomena, advanced topics in the modelling of energy systems, steam boilers
- Alternative Studies, 7-30 ECTS credits: bioenergy and energy use in the forest industry, turbulence models, computational fluid dynamics, energy economics, renewable energy technology, nuclear plant engineering
The specialization studies include a Master’s thesis and seminar,

- Minor studies minimum 20 ECTS credits: recommended minor studies are environmental responsibility, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, biobased chemical engineering
- Elective studies: select from any disciplines at LUT, choose enough to meet the minimum total requirement of the M.Sc. degree
